LIBRARY CARDS

  • Library cards are free of charge to anyone living within the boundaries of Earlville Library District.
  • Registration requires one piece of identification with your current address such as a driver’s license, checkbook, utility bill etc.
  • Children must be 5 years of age to obtain a card. A parent or guardian must bring in one piece of identification and sign for the initial card for any child under 14 years old.
  • Cardholders are responsible for all materials borrowed with their cards
  • Library cards must be renewed every three years.
  • Lost cards may be replaced for a small fee
  • You may use your library card at most of the public libraries in Illinois as part of the reciprocal borrowing program.

NON-RESIDENT LIBRARY CARD

Under Public Act 92-0166, an individual living outside of a public library service area may purchase a library card providing the non-resident with library service. A non-resident must purchase the library card from the public library closest to the individual’s primary residence. This card is valid for one year. Non-residents pay an annual fee equal to the average amount of the library tax paid by an Earlville Library District homeowner. The current year fee is $117.

INTERLIBRARY LOANS

The Interlibrary loan service is designed for patrons who need access to library materials unavailable at our library. Materials such as books, CD’s, videotapes, and periodical articles can be borrowed from other libraries throughout the state. This service is available to anyone with a valid Earlville Library District card. Librarians will assist in requesting materials. There is no charge for this service.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees of the Earlville Library District is composed of individuals are elected and serve six-year terms. The present Board is a dedicated group of volunteers who willingly give their time and talent to ensure an outstanding library for the citizens of Earlville Library District.
